We want to reward our best and brightest students, so we’re giving you the chance to get your hands on one of our Global Future Leader Award scholarships.

As you hold an offer from us on an International Foundation or International Year One programme, you’re invited to participate in the event!

Aside from receiving an amazing scholarship, our Future Leaders will act as student ambassadors to support other students planning to study with INTO.

You’ll be asked to give testimonials about your study abroad experience, take an active role in promoting other student experiences, and help out with centre-based volunteering.

What else does a Future Leader do?

How can I be selected for a Future Leader Award?

You’ll attend a one-day assessment at a venue closest to you, where you’ll complete a three-part test. Subjects will include Mathematics, English and Global Affairs.

We will then decide which successful students will receive a Future Leader Award, and those winners will be contacted on or before 28 May 2018 with the great news.

The Future Leader Awards cannot be used in conjunction with any other financial discount or scholarship, except for a sibling discount.

If you have already received a scholarship or discount, you can still be considered for a Future Leader Scholarship. Following the assessment, if you are selected to receive a Future Leader Scholarship, you will be permitted to keep the award which offers the greatest financial support to help fund your studies.

The Award is available for those who plan to study an International Foundation, International Year One or have study plans lasting three terms or more commencing in or before October 2018.

Following the announcements of Awards, you must confirm your place by returning relevant documentation and paying your deposit within 21 days. After 21 days, scholarship funds are no longer guaranteed and will be awarded as available. If you change your study plan in any way, the scholarship amount awarded may be affected and you will receive a new scholarship letter to reflect this.

Future Leader Awards FAQs:

To ensure that you are prepared ahead of the Global Future Leader Scholarship assessment, below are the answers to several frequently asked questions:

What should I bring on the day of the test?

On the day of the test, please plan to arrive at the testing venue at the advertised time of the event to complete registration.

You will need to bring the following items with you:

  • Pen, pencils and other writing equipment that you might require to fill in the testing papers
  • One form of identification such as a passport or national identity card
  • A copy of your offer letter, inclusive of your application ID number which start 'IN:' followed by a letter, 7 numbers and end with the letter 'Q'.

Please note that this assessment must be completed without the use of a calculator.

We would also suggest that you leave laptops, iPads and mobile telephones at home. These cannot be used during the examination.


What type of questions can I expect?

The test will consist of three papers: English, Mathematics and Global Affairs.

English:
This assessment will focus on your understanding of written English and will test skills such as vocabulary, grammar and comprehension. This section of the assessment will be multiple choice.

This assessment will not examine speaking and listening skills.

Mathematics:
This assessment will focus on areas of Mathematics including calculus, problem solving and algebra. Some aspects of this assessment will be multiple choice, whilst other questions will require you to calculate and provide answers.  

The assessment must be completed without the use of a calculator.

Global Affairs:
This assessment will test your knowledge of current affairs across the globe. Some aspects of this assessment will be multiple choice, whilst other questions will require you to provide answers.


How much time will I have for each section of the test?

You will have a total of one-and-a-half hours to complete your assessment. We suggest the following timings per section of the assessment.

  • English: 30 minutes 
  • Mathematics: 30 minutes
  • Global Affairs: 30 minutes 

Is an interview also required?

This assessment does not include an interview however, there will be several members of our Regional Team in attendance at the event should you have further questions about your intended study plan. Our Team would also be happy to answer any questions that your parents may have, therefore they would be welcome to attend the event with you.


When will I know if I’ve been successful?

  • If you are selected to receive a Global Future Leader Scholarship Award you be contacted on or before 28 May 2018 with the great news.
  • Following the announcements of Awards, you must confirm your place by returning relevant documentation and paying your deposit within 21 days.
